Gray Reed Elects Three New Shareholders

Gray Reed & McGraw announces the election of three attorneys as shareholders. The attorneys elected are: Jenny Givens, John G. George, Jr. and Philip Jordan.

Jenny Givens, Dallas, Health Law – With a background in hospital administration Givens is equipped with a unique understanding of the challenges facing healthcare providers and how to craft practical solutions to those challenges. Certified in Healthcare Compliance, Givens’ practice is heavily focused on the regulatory aspects of health law and all aspects of hospital operations.  In addition to hospitals, Givens advises a wide-range of providers, including ancillary providers, surgery centers, as well as physician, home health, and hospice entities regarding healthcare operational, regulatory and corporate transactional matters. Before joining Gray Reed, Givens was in-house with City of Hope National Medical Center in California and a consultant for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children where she handled a variety of regulatory compliance matters.  In addition to her in-house experience, and prior to attending law school, Givens was an administrator for a community hospital in Los Angeles, California. Givens graduated with a B.S. in Gerontology and a M.A. in Health Administration from the University of Southern California. She received her J.D. from the SMU Dedman School of Law and is Board Certified in Health Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

John G. George, Jr., Houston, Litigation – John G. George, Jr. represents clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters. Among others, these include commercial litigation, real estate, oil and gas, royalty disputes, and creditor collection. George has significant experience in complex commercial litigation, including trial experience in a wide variety of business litigation matters involving novel theories of contract and commercial tort law. George manages a docket of civil litigation matters involving claims of breaches of fiduciary duty, fraud, misrepresentations, DTPA violations, and negligence involving prominent real estate brokers and agents.  He also helps manage national commercial breach of contract dockets for large energy companies with active matters in numerous states.  George received his B.B.A. from Sam Houston State University. He earned his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law.

Philip Jordan, Dallas, Energy Law – A Board Certified Oil & Gas attorney, Philip Jordan focuses on both upstream and midstream transactional matters. Having served as the General Counsel for a successful independent exploration and production company, he has comprehensive experience in the oil and gas industry. He has drafted and negotiated virtually every instrument that concerns the acquisition, divestiture, exploration, development, production, marketing, and transportation of crude oil and natural gas. Jordan also has extensive experience with both debt and equity financing along with the formation and operation of oil and gas companies. He received his B.A. from Stephen F. Austin University and his J.D. from the Houston College of Law (formerly South Texas College of Law).
