Gray Reed & McGraw Announces New Shareholders for 2013

Mitch AckalJoe NelsonThe law firm of Gray Reed & McGraw is pleased to announce that Joe Nelson and Mitch Ackal were named Shareholders and elected to the firm's Board of Directors.

Joseph Nelson is based in Dallas and focuses his practice on regulatory and transactional matters in the health care industry, concentrating on assisting health care providers and suppliers in ensuring their operations and transactions are compliant with applicable laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, the False Claims Acts, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the Texas Illegal Remuneration Act and other state and federal regulations pertaining to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.  Joe graduated with a B.A. from the University of Nevada at Reno and a J.D. from The Catholic University of America.

Mitch Ackal practices in the litigation section of the Firm’s Houston office.  He serves as trial counsel to parties involved in complex, commercial and business cases and focuses on assisting businesses in all stages of litigation – including implementing effective courthouse strategies; analyzing and communicating complex issues and arguments to clients, judges, and juries; and providing his clients with sound, practical business advice. Mitch’s practice includes both prosecuting and defending claims involving oil & gas, class/mass action, contract, franchise/distribution, trade secret, partnership and Uniform Commercial Code disputes in state and federal courts, in arbitrations, and on appeal. Mitch received his B.A. from Rice University and his B.C.L. and J.D. from Louisiana State University.
