Gray Reed Continues to Grow Intellectual Property Practice

Gray Reed & McGraw is pleased to announce that David DeZern has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property team as a Member in Gray Reed’s Dallas office. In the last six months, Gray Reed has added four new attorneys to its Intellectual Property section—all based out of the Dallas office.

DeZern focuses his practice on resolving intellectual property disputes and patent litigation with experience handling cases that involve a number of technologies including power converters, software and electronic design automation at all stages. DeZern earned both his law degree and undergraduate degree from the University of Texas.

The firm’s intellectual property practice focuses on litigation, the protection and evaluation of IP portfolios, and the freedom to operate. Its team resolves patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret and other complex IP litigation issues in trial and appellate courts throughout the country, as well as before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the U.S. International Trade Commission.

The firm’s IP attorneys identify and strategically build their clients’ intellectual property portfolios to effectively leverage patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret related assets in the global marketplace. They are continually engaged in obtaining patents, trademark and copyright registrations, as well as structuring and negotiating IP-related licensing arrangements and the valuation of corporate IP portfolios.
