Patrick D. Souter, a member of the Healthcare Section of the Dallas office of Gray Reed & McGraw has been designated as a specialist in healthcare law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Board Certification is a mark of excellence and a distinguishing accomplishment that can be claimed by only 10% of attorneys licensed in Texas. In order to gain the title of Board Certified Specialist, the attorney must have been in practice for five years, with a minimum of three years experience in their specialty area. Additionally, these attorneys must be approved by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Advisory Commission and pass a specialty area examination before they are able to gain the distinction of board certification.

Patrick Souter's primary areas of practice are related to Transactional and Administrative Healthcare, Corporate, Securities and Antitrust matters. A native of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Souter obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Juris Doctorate from Baylor University and is currently a candidate in the M.B.A. Program for Health Services Management at the University of Dallas. He is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and has gained admission to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District and Eastern District of Texas, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Tax Court. Additionally, Mr. Souter is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, and the American Health Lawyers Association. Mr. Souter is also certified by the American Health Lawyers Association as a Mediator and Arbitrator.
